BASS AI

Building a Smarter BASS Construction

BASS AI is the future home of secure, practical artificial intelligence tools for company knowledge, project information, estimating, operational insight, and controlled collaboration.

01

Why BASS AI

BASS AI is being built for the people who deliver BASS Construction's work — authorized employees who need trusted answers in the field and the office, grounded in the company's own information.

Construction plans, hard hat, and working tools laid out on a table at a construction site
Trusted information, ready where the work happens.

Questions BASS AI is being built to answer

“What does our Gordian/BuyBoard contract allow in markup?”

“Find the latest approved COI requirements.”

“What changed between Addendum 2 and Addendum 3?”

“Draft a subcontractor-ready Division 26 scope from the project documents.”

“Which electrical trade partners have bid fire-station work in Fort Bend County?”

“What project, financial, or schedule exceptions need executive attention this week?”

01

Find trusted company information faster

Locate the right company knowledge without searching across disconnected systems and folders.

02

Understand project documents

Draw clear meaning from specifications, drawings, addenda, RFIs, submittals, contracts, meeting records, photos, and closeout documents that are easy to collect but hard to work through.

03

Improve estimating and proposal workflows

Support the teams who price and pursue work with faster scope development, bid-form extraction, proposal comparison, and coverage-gap review.

04

Preserve historical and institutional knowledge

Keep approved procedures, templates, contract requirements, lessons learned, and company history available to the people who need them next.

05

Identify operational issues requiring attention

Surface project, financial, and schedule exceptions that need a closer look, so nothing important waits too long.

02

Planned BASS AI Applications

Each BASS AI application is planned as its own secure space, delivered in phases as the platform matures. These applications are not yet operational.

03

One Platform, Clear Boundaries

BASS AI will use subdomains for separate applications and folders/workspaces for individual projects or pursuits — so every application and every body of work has a clear, separate home.

Different application = subdomain. Different content = workspace.

An application

A subdomain is the address of a distinct BASS AI application, with its own purpose and its own access boundaries.

A workspace within it

A workspace is the home for one project or pursuit inside an application — its own documents, its own participants, its own permissions.

Department subdomains — accounting., safety., hr., and similar — are deliberately avoided at the start, as are subdomains named for specific platforms. Categories live inside the appropriate application until a truly separate system and security boundary is justified.

04

Security Comes Before Scale

Security is not a feature to add later. It is the design principle BASS AI is being built around, from identity and access to every application decision that follows.

Microsoft Entra ID planned authentication
Multifactor authentication
Least-privilege access
Role-based permissions
Project-specific access
Underlying source-system permissions
Human review
Separate external-user access
Hard hat and drafting compass resting on architectural blueprints
Security and governance guide every BASS AI design decision.

Access to BASS AI never automatically grants access to the information behind it. Users must also be authorized to access the underlying project, department, or system.

Information Protected by Design

Company, project, financial, personnel, and other sensitive information remains protected by design. Role-based and project-specific permissions, together with the permissions of the underlying systems of record, determine what each authorized user can see across BASS AI.

05

BASS AI Implementation Roadmap

The platform advances in deliberate phases — each one builds on the security, governance, and knowledge groundwork before it.

All timing shown is directional and subject to business priorities, security review, technology evaluation, and pilot results.

Phases build in sequence — BASS Knowledge comes first in the launch order, ahead of the BASS Assistant pilot.

How pilot success is measured

At least 30% less time locating approved company procedures
At least 40% less time preparing first-draft subcontractor scopes
Source citations for substantive answers whenever technically possible
At least 80% useful-answer rating from pilot users
No unauthorized cross-project, executive, financial, or personnel-data exposure
06

Practical AI With Human Accountability

BASS AI is designed to assist — not to decide.

Where BASS AI may assist

Research
Summarization
Comparison
Drafting
Scope development
Checklists
Project information
Issue identification

Where people remain responsible

AI-generated material remains draft work product until an authorized BASS employee reviews and approves it. Authorized personnel stay responsible for contracts, estimating, accounting, project direction, and every external communication.

Systems of record

BASS Construction's approved accounting, project-management, document-management, CRM, and collaboration platforms remain the systems of record. BASS AI will operate as an information and productivity layer over authorized information, not as a replacement for those systems. Where an AI response conflicts with an executed contract, approved drawing, accounting record, or other authoritative source, the authoritative source governs.
